Hardware Setup

We have one Raspberry Pi for each Screen on the Wall
They are attached to the backside of the wall (small black boxes)
Each of them is connected to an HDMI switch that switches between the PasPi output and the input from the "Datapath X4 Module"
The HDMI splitter only works when powered by the HDMI port of it's RasPi - so the RasPis need to have power even if you want to use input from the Datapath!

Working with SD-card images

In order to install your images on your Raspberry Pi you can follow those instructions found on the official Raspberry Pi website: https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/installation/

For OS X you can alternatively use this GUI Interface to format, flash, and backup your SD-cards: https://www.tweaking4all.com/software/macosx-software/macosx-apple-pi-baker/

Remote desktop

x11vnc server for Raspberry

steps:

install and set password

sudo apt-get install x11vnc
x11vnc -storepasswd

create autostart entry

cd .config
mkdir autostart
cd autostart
nano x11vnc.desktop
paste following text:

[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Type=Application
Name=X11VNC
Comment=
Exec=x11vnc -forever -usepw -display :0 -ultrafilexfer
StartupNotify=false
Terminal=false
Hidden=false

save and exit (Ctrl-X, Y, <Enter>). This start x11vnc when lxde starts.

Restart raspberry

sudo shutdown -r now

VNC Viewer

Download and install for your operating system from https://www.realvnc.com/download/vnc/
