The experimental Radioshow with Johann Mittmann and Jan Glöckner!

Jan is at the radiostudio, receiving a livestream from Johann’s studio. Johann is wearing mics in his ears. This binaural microphones enable a special spacious reproduction (if you listen to it with headphones). At the studio there are 7 speakers which produce a static field of standing waves. When a listener is moving through the field the interferences of the waves change and the static sound starts to move. Standing in the center of the room the waves disappear. Johann moves with the mics in his ears through the room, after some time he looks out of the window or plays the saxophone.

Jan is at the radiostudio reading poems from Claude E. Shannon, the developer of „a mathematical theory of communication“ and explaining the experiment set up and its signal-ways, which are only possible through the findings of Shannon.

Jan sitzt im Studio, Liveschaltung ins Atelier von Johann. Johann trägt Mikrofone in seinen Ohren, eine solche Mikrofonierung ermöglicht eine besonders räumliche Wiedergabe wenn man die Sendung mit Kopfhörern hört. Im Atelier produzieren 7 Kanäle ein statisches Feld stehender Wellen. Wenn niemand zuhört ist der Klang ohne Bewegung. Bewegt sich ein/e Hörer_in durch den Raum verändern sich die Überlagerungen der Wellen und der statische Klang gerät für ihn/sie in Bewegung. Steht man in der Mitte des Raumes verschwinden die Klangwellen. Johann bewegt sich mit Mikrofonen in den Ohren durch den Raum, nach einiger Zeit schaut er aus dem Fenster oder spielt auf einem Saxophon.

Jan ist im Radiostudio und liest Gedichte von Claude E. Shannon, der Entwickler von “ Eine mathematische Theorie der Kommunikation“ und erklärt den Aufbau des Experiments sowie dessen Signalwege. Diese sind nur durch die Ergebnisse Shannons überhaupt möglich.
