AT-AT ist ein Roboter, der Salti schlägt. Wie eine Gondel hängen Arduino und Motor mithilfe einiger Zahnräder im Grundgerüst. Die Gondel bewegt sich nach vorne in die Schnauze des Roboters. Hat sie einen bestimmten Punkt erreicht, bewirkt sie, dass sich das Heck hochhebt, die Beine darüberschwingen und AT-AT einen Salto schlägt. Der Motor läuft weiter, das Heck wird zur Schnauze, die Schnauze zum Heck und der Ablauf beginnt von vorne. So bewegt AT-AT sich langsam, aber zielstrebig fort. Die Bauteile bestehen aus Sperrholz, wurden präzise aufeinander abgestimmt und mit Lasercuttechnik hergestellt.

AT-AT is a robot that does flips. Like a gondola, Arduino and motor are hanging down, held by some gears inside the base frame. As the gondola moves forward into the robot‘s snout, it is so heavy that the tail lifts up, the legs swing over it, and AT-AT does a flip. The tail becomes the snout, the snout becomes the tail, and the process starts all over again. That’s how this robot moves along. The parts are made of precisely matched and laser cut wood.
