Bauhaus.Bühne

"The desire ... (is) great, ... to create a movable organism, to produce ever new spatial formations whose essence is the ease of change. In addition to a kind of construction kit consisting of so-called Praktikabeln that can be used in a variety of ways, mobile backdrops ... sliding walls, folding frames, mechanisms ... A kind of spatial dance is cultivated, which develops from ... ... spatial relationships, a kind of spatial exploration, so to speak. ... In addition to the pure body movement, the costume will play a role, partly as a support, partly as an end in itself ..." wrote Oskar Schlemmer in 1926 about the Bauhaus stage.

The "spatial dances" developed by Oskar Schlemmer and the students of the Bauhaus stage workshop in 1926-1929, as a format of complex physical exploration, appropriation and production of spatial relationships, are updated as part of the Bachelor course.

As a result, methodical experimental arrangements will be created, which will be publicly presented as lecture demonstrations / lecture performances at the "Bauhaus Festival Bühne Total" - Dessau 11-15.09.2019 and as part of the conference "denkraum.bauhaus" - Weimar 27-29.09.2019 as well as in spring 2019 at the Theater Gera/Altenburg.

Torsten Blume - Head of the "Bauhaus Open Stage" program at the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation - and Dr. Claudia Tittel, Fak. Media at the Bauhaus University Weimar, are supporting the project in terms of content.
