You can only perceive a place in situ. When you perceive space or architecture, you don't just look at the place, you enter into a relationship with it.
Future architects must learn to appropriate the places where they want to plan: they must recognize forms, boundaries, interstices, they must be able to perceive and name the genius loci, i.e. the spirit of the place. They must deal with the colors, materials, transparencies and reflections of the context and use all five senses: a journey to the location of the event is therefore essential.

In the second core module, work on the topic continues. Selected designs are modified, implementation planning is carried out and the design is realized on a 1:1 scale. The designs from the first semester are used as a basis for discussion in order to develop a modular structure that does not deny its cultural roots in the building form and at the same time is open to a wide variety of musical uses.

One of the students' key insights is the necessary process suitability of the planning from the object to the logic in the process flow, use and recycling. Serial construction, ease of assembly, deconstructability and sustainability are aspects that are taught at our professorship.
