In this compendium, 19 selected personalities from the fields of art, design, architecture, urbanism, and art education position themselves regarding diverse identity-forming factors. They reflect not only on the balance of chance and structure in each individual developmental process but also on the conscious and unconscious influence of the cultural legacy of Bauhaus and post-war modernism, its utopias, and fundamental design attitudes on their development as professional artists and educators. The authors discuss their reciprocal functions as creators and educators in art and culture, as well as the responsibilities that come with these roles towards the next generation of future "society shapers."
