Bauhaus-Universität Weimar
„We are a vibrant institution, not a museum"
We, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, refer to the great historical model of the "state Bauhaus" in order to find answers to central questions of art and culture, technology, science and society using modern methods. In order to meet these requirements, we have carefully created the profile of our university which is focused on our four faculties: Architecture and Urbanism, Civil Engineering, Art and Design, and Media. Experimentation and excellence prevail throughout these faculties in which transdisciplinary projects and cooperations in research and education are also conducted.
The spectrum of our university currently comprises more than 40 courses of study and ranges from Liberal Arts, Design, Web Design, Visual Communication, Media Design and Culture to Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Materials and Environment and Management. Today, the term "Bauhaus" in the name of our university stands for an eagerness to experiment, openness, creativity, proximity to industrial practice and internationality.
