Südländer Argentinien
Master Entwurf und Exkursion, WS 2014-2015
The program ‘Südländer’ combines an introduction seminar to the semester design theme and an excursion to Argentina with an intensive workshop in Rosario. The workshop combines the necessary local research and mapping of the project area. This can only be accessed at the location with first conceptual approaches to the project to could be tested on site. The workshop will be supported through conferences addressing topics such as the history of the place and preservation goals in Rosario.
Site ‘Usina Sorrento’
The site is located in the North of Rosario at the ‘Arroyo Ludueña’ and behind the Ave. Carlos Columbus. The Usina Sorrento was a power plant built 1912. The building is now
abandoned and now waiting for a new concept. The neighborhood is structured the Ave. Carlos Columbus, the ‘Arroyo Ludueña’, the area with is still used for electrical power supply and the huge housing area which is heading towards the East and the river Paraná.
Logbook
All relevant information for our design project will be documented in a ‘Logbook’, including the results of the mapping, along with reference projects and first concepts. This document
should give us a firm base to continue the work during the winter semester’s design project at the Bauhaus University in Weimar. This document will help us to collect relevant data from our excursion and share it with each other. Also we can use it as a presentation tool during our working process.
