INUMO - Integrated Urban Mobility (2021 - 2025)

With the goal to leverage the potential of digital methods for sustainable urban mobility planning in Ethiopia, INUMO takes an interdisciplinary approach between the fields of traffic planning, computer science and urban planning in order to develop and test new methods for integrated urban mobility.

OpenVREVAL (2021 - 2023)

In this project we are developing Virtual Reality based evaluation methods for user-centered architectural design. Together with our practice partner Deutsche Bahn Station & Service AG we are testing the applicability of these methods for integrating citizen-feedback into the design of train stations.

Virtual Reality for User-Centered Train Stations (2018 - 2020)

In this research collaboration with Deutsche Bahn Station & Service we are developing methods for anticipating the user perspective in the early planning phases of a train station. By integrating Virtual Reality based User Studies and Simulation Methods into Building Information Modeling we aim at improving current planning processes.

DigiWo (2018 - 2020)

Digital methods for integrated and scale independent generation, analysis and exploration of residential building variants.

DiPlanner (2017-2018)

The DiPlanner research project in a collaboration between the Junior-Professorship Computational Architecture and the companies DIPLAN and DeCodingSpaces.

IN³ - Integrated Infrastructure (2016 - 2020)

The main objective of this interdisciplinary international research project at the Bauhaus- Universität Weimar (BUW) and the Ethiopia Institute for Architecture, Building Construction and City Development (EiABC) is to create knowledge, tools, and networks for establishing high-quality, interdisciplinary, cross-continental research and education on the planning of resilient cities.
