On 6 November 2024 at 7 pm, the »Thüringer Wald 2045 - Geschichten einer gelingenden Zukunft gesucht« public panel discussion will take place with Britta Trostorff, head of the »Naturschutzgroßprojekt Thüringer Wald« project, Julia Pöhlmann, and Bernd Wilhelm, former director of the Oberhof forestry office, among others. Local coordinator Anton Brokow-Loga from the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar says: »We warmly invite citizens of Suhl and the surrounding area to our temporary meeting space. The events are intended to foster exchange and to act as a prelude to finding solutions to current pressing issues.«
Event details can be found at https://uni-weimar.de/ritt. Entrance is free of charge and registration is not required.
The meeting space is part of the »Räume in Transformation Thüringen«, a project at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar’s Institute for European Urban Studies (IfEU) that includes planning projects from October 2024 to July 2025 focussing on the Thuringian Mittelgebirge, an area rich in tradition. The project is based on the major social and ecological challenges the rural Thuringian Forest area is facing and aims to identify potential opportunities for change.
