Scholarships and Funding

The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar awards scholarships and funding of varying duration to early stage researchers on a regular basis. The Bauhaus Research School provides advice on the wide range of funding options to support doctoral candidates and Post-Docs of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. In addition, a wide range of funding institutions provide scholarships for young researchers, for example the 13 organizations for the promotion of young talent, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Other scholarship donors can be found via scholarship databases.

Interdisciplinary fellowships for the future »Forschungswerkstatt«
- for teams of at least two early stage researchers from the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar with different disciplinary backgrounds and a jointly planned research project
- funding of up to 40,000 euros per project can be applied for

Calls for applications closed

Annually, several calls for applications are published at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar for alumni, young researchers, artists and designers in the winter semester.
- The application deadline for 2025/26 has ended on 15th of January 2025
- If not all scholarships are awarded in March, a second call for applications may be opened.
- Scholarships usually start in April.

In addition, there are other funding options in form of partial grants directly at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar:

- Erasmus+ support for language courses abroad
- refund of printing costs for the doctoral thesis (2025: in revision)
