Exp. #1 (self) Experiment / “Trip” report
The Lycergic Acid (LSA) extract from 10g of Morning Glory Seeds was divided by two and ingested orally by two people - meaning every person ingested the extract of 5g of seeds.
Person one: Male Age 22 Person two: Female Age 23
Before ingestion, the substance was mixed with a medium strong Mint Tee. Mint Tee was used because it was also part of the “Kykeon” in the Elysian Mysteries. Mint is said to have a strengthening effect of the LSA experience.
19:15 (00:00) - oral ingestion of the Substance
— inside, dim light, relaxed music
19:32 (00:17) - more activity in the stomach the usual - first signs of nausea (comparable to nausea when traveling by car or train) - a lot of ‘air’ in the stomach
19:42 (00:27) - changed perception of body, especially when moving - body feels more light and movement feels more fluid and ‘round’ - nausea is still going as before
20:11 (00:57) - nausea stronger while standing and moving, less strong when laying on the back - stronger feeling in the body - first light changes in visual perception - body feels cold - definitely stronger perception than normal
21:30 (01:15) - strong nausea - nausea is overshadowing the ‘entheogenic’ effect - stomach very bloated - when laying on the back it feels close to passing out — going outside for a walk
22:38 (02:23) — back inside - stomach much better - visual effect much stronger - strong colors - everything seems to be covered by a smooth film - slight patterns in light and shadows - body feeling: light, fluid and awake
23:23 (03:07) - first signs of tiredness - visual effect compatible with a mild dose of LSD - definite effect on the perception of audio - much less nausea, almost normal
00:42 (04:16) - more and more tiredness, going to sleep - entheogenic effect is getting less
Conclusion
The amount of 5g Morning Glory seeds is usually categorized as a mild dose. When taking 10g (high dose) vomiting from the nausea is highly probable. I could imagine that vomiting would make the nausea pass faster and it would clean the body to prepare it for the ‘trip’ after. Taking LSA seeds in a ritual-context seems highly plausible to me. The combination of cleaning the body through vomiting and entering a entheogenic journey afterwards is commonly used in many tribal ceremonies. The feeling of the nausea is highly uncomfortable and can be expected to be even more so, when taking a stronger dose. But when the nausea goes away and the ‘trip’ begins properly, the lack of nausea is an extremely pleasant feeling.
