Workshop with Wolfgang Spahn

In this workshop, Wolfgang Spahn explained to us how to build a Pop Neuron that he invented together with Christian Faubel and is based on the idea of the Shun-Ichi Amari Oscillator.
There is a detailed explanation on the actual Pop Neuron form Wolfgang Spahn on his Website.
But also, you can also find a nice explanation on networks neural oscillators here on the website of khm.
Important reading material you can also fin on Wolfgangs Website!

After we followed a lot of theoretical input, we started to solder our own pop neurons.

And as soon as you have two neurons connected they start to oscillate with each other. By connecting more than one pare together the interaction becomes a little bit more unclear for the observer, but it is still given. Here are some pictures on it, as well as a short VIDEO, so you can listen to the sounds we made.

The work with Wolfgang and the whole topic fascinate me a lot.
Being aware that this is no isolated incident, I want to investigate more on the idea of taking a sample from nature and translating it into electronics.
And also, dive deeper into the field of cybernetics. This is reflecting on my proposal and actual work for this project.
